The POCO X3 Pro has been one of the most popular phones of 2021 and now it has a successor: the POCO X4 Pro 5G is here. For many, it will be time to decide if it is worth buying the POCO X4 Pro 5G , or if it is better to opt for the previous model, the POCO X3 Pro .
In this renewal of the best-selling POCO there have been many changes, so you must take into account several factors when deciding if the POCO X4 Pro or the POCO X3 Pro is better for you. We tell you what has changed in the POCO X4 Pro compared to the previous model.
A slightly different design

The first change is obvious: the POCO X4 Pro opts for the flat edge design line that has recently gained so many followers, and with the change it slims down. The thickness of the terminal is reduced from the forceful 9.4 millimeters of POCO X3 Pro to 8.12 millimeters of POCO X4 Pro, and slims down about 10 grams along the way.
This new design is also evident in the rear of the terminal, where the camera module invades the entire horizontality of the terminal, as we have already seen in the POCO M3 and POCO M4 Pro 5G . As a consequence, the large POCO logo passes to the module itself, and at the bottom it is highlighted that the terminal is 5G.
On the front, the screen design remains quite similar (Full HD+, with center perforation and 6.67-inch diagonal), but the biggest change is that the panel is AMOLED . Again, with a screen refresh rate of 120 Hz, but with the touch response speed increased to 360 Hz (it is 240 Hz on the POCO X3 Pro).
Not everything is for the better. Interestingly, the POCO X4 Pro covers the screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 , while the protection is Corning Gorilla Glass 6 on the POCO X3 Pro. The certification of the terminal, yes, remains the same, IP53 on both models.
You see, you feel, 5G is present
Possibly the biggest change of the POCO X4 Pro 5G with respect to the POCO X3 Por is that the new model is 5G . This was one of the big drawbacks of the POCO X3 Pro, which is finally solved by making it a rounder device.
The change comes with one of lime and one of sand. Instead of having a Qualcomm 8 series, we have a 6 series, the Snapdragon 695 5G . It’s more modern – it was announced a few months ago – and with a 6nm build it should be more efficient than the POCO X3 Pro’s Snapdragon 860, but in return it has less “raw power”: its Kryo 660s run at up to 2.2 GHz, while in the POCO X3 Pro, the Kryo 485 reach 2.96 GHz.
Storages and versions remain almost unchanged (6 or 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of storage), although there is a small regression as a consequence of the chosen processor: the storage is UFS 2.2 , while it was UFS 3.1 in the POCO X3 Pro.
